The Skating Edge's Learn to Skate program participates in US Figure Skating's Learn To Skate USA program. US Figure Skating's Learn To Skate USA program was designed to serve the needs of both recreational and competitive skaters with curriculum that keeps skaters interested and engaged from their first beginner lesson and onward. Whether you have a future Olympian, or they just want to skate for fun our Learn To Skate program is the perfect place to start.

Classes are taught in increments of 30 minutes. Included with registration fee is one 30 minute instructional period per week and 6 free public session passes. Classes are held on:

Wednesdays from 5:10-5:40pm 

 Saturdays from 12-12:30pm 

 Sundays from 12-12:30pm  (for beginners)

 

For those wanting to learn to skate for hockey specifically, we offer class on Mondays from 5:10-5:40pm   

Skating Edge follows the guidelines of Learn to Skate USA program, which is the governing body of the United States Figure Skating Association. Skills learned in our program will take your skater from the very basics to the elite skater they could become. Our instructors are all certified Figure Skating Instructors with full credentials and background screenings yearly. Your group lessons also include membership to United States Figure Skating.

 **Fall session dates: October 14 - December 22, 2024  (No classes 11/25 through 12/1)

Costs:

Cost for 9-week class - Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays   $199 per skater
Cost for 8-week class - Sundays (beginners only) $177 per skater
Annual Learn to Skate USA membership fee: included in registration.

 The objectives of the program are:

  • Teach children and adults the fundamentals of ice skating while building confidence and skills through each lesson.
  • Provide a progressive curriculum that ensures success from the first steps on the ice to the mastery of advanced skills.
  • Promote the health and fitness benefits of ice skating.
  • Equip each participant with the foundation necessary to reach their goal, be it recreational or competitive in nature.
