Skating Edge Ice Arena is proud to host Little Kings, the official LA Kings Learn to Play hockey program, bringing a nationally recognized youth hockey experience to our South Bay community. Designed for first-time hockey players, this exciting program introduces children ages 5–9 to the fundamentals of hockey in a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment.
Whether your child dreams of scoring goals or is simply curious about trying something new, Little Kings is the perfect first step into the sport of hockey.
🏒 What Is the LA Kings Little Kings Program?
Little Kings is an introductory Learn to Play hockey program developed by the LA Kings in partnership with USA Hockey. The program focuses on teaching young players essential skating and hockey skills while fostering teamwork, confidence, and a love for the game.
Using a USA Hockey–approved curriculum, participants learn in a structured yet encouraging setting designed specifically for beginners. No prior hockey experience is required.
👶 Who Is This Program For?
The Little Kings program is open to:
- Children ages 5–9
- Players who are new to hockey
- Kids interested in learning basic skating and hockey fundamentals
- Families looking for a fun, low-pressure introduction to youth hockey
📌 Age Requirement: Participants must be 5 years old by March 7, 2026
📌 Eligibility: This program may be completed once per child
📌 Recommendation: Prior skating lessons are highly encouraged
