Think you missed your chance to play hockey because you didn’t start as a kid? Think again.
At Skating Edge Ice Arena, adults can find a place to start and opportunities to keep progressing. Whether you’re completely new to hockey, returning to the game, or looking for a place to play, there are opportunities for men and women of all experience levels to get on the ice at Skating Edge. Whether you’re learning to skate for the first time, looking for extra ice time to practice, developing your hockey skills with a coach, or ready to join an adult league, there’s a path forward.
You don’t already have to be a hockey player to find your place in hockey!

Here’s how you can get started…
Step 1: Build Your Foundation with Adult Learn to Skate
Every hockey player needs a strong skating foundation, and there’s no age limit on learning.
For adults who are brand new to the ice, Adult Learn to Skate at Skating Edge is a great first step. Classes help skaters develop balance, control, stopping, edges, and confidence while becoming more comfortable moving around the ice.
If hockey is your ultimate goal, learning these fundamentals gives you the foundation you’ll need as you begin adding a stick, puck, and other hockey-specific skills.
And you don’t have to arrive knowing how to skate. That’s exactly what Learn to Skate is for.

Step 2: Get More Ice Time with Stick Time
Once you’re comfortable on your skates and ready to start working with a puck, more time on the ice can make a big difference.
Stick Time at Skating Edge gives hockey players an opportunity to practice independently. Work on your skating, stickhandling, shooting, puck control, or whatever part of your game needs attention.
For developing players, it can also be a valuable complement to lessons and clinics. The more comfortable you become moving with the puck, the more confident you’ll feel taking the next step.
Want some extra practice? Check the Skating Edge schedule for upcoming Stick Time sessions.

Step 3: Develop Your Game at the Adult Hockey Clinic
Ready for focused hockey instruction?
The Skating Edge Adult Hockey Clinic welcomes men and women ages 18+ of all skill levels.
Work with experienced coaches on skating, puck control, passing, shooting, and game situations while building the confidence to take your game to the next level.
For newer players, the clinic can help bridge the gap between learning individual hockey skills and being ready to use those skills in a game. More experienced players can use the same ice time to sharpen their technique and continue improving.
Whether your goal is league play, improving your current game, getting a great workout, or simply becoming a better hockey player, there’s something to work toward every Wednesday.
Adult Hockey Clinic: Wednesdays at 8:10 PM at Skating Edge Ice Arena.

Step 4: Take Your Skills into League Play with Ice Angeles
Ready to play?
Skating Edge is home to Ice Angeles Hockey League, an independent adult hockey league that has played at the rink since 2009.
Ice Angeles Hockey League offers adult league play at Skating Edge for men and women ages 18+, with five divisions ranging from beginner through advanced.
Liquid Metal – Beginner
Tin – Novice
Copper – Novice/Intermediate
Bronze – Intermediate/Advanced
Silver – Advanced
That range means adult hockey isn’t reserved for players who have been competing their entire lives. There are opportunities for developing players as well as experienced players looking for competitive league play.
Ice Angeles describes its approach simply: a league run by players, for players.

Not Sure Where to Start? Start Where You Are.
There isn’t one starting point for every adult hockey player. Maybe you’ve never put on skates before. Maybe you can skate but have never held a hockey stick. Maybe you played years ago and want to get back into the game. Or maybe you’re already playing and simply want more ice time and better coaching.
That’s why having an adult hockey pathway matters.
Learn to Skate → Practice → Develop → Play
You can begin with Adult Learn to Skate, get additional practice during Stick Time, build your game through the Adult Hockey Clinic, and work toward adult league play with Ice Angeles.
You don’t need to have started as a kid. You don’t need to arrive with years of experience. And you don’t need to figure out the entire journey before taking your first step.
You don’t have to have grown up playing hockey to find your place in the game. Whether you’re a man or woman, a first-time player or returning to the ice, there’s a place to start and a path forward at Skating Edge.
